From the Desk of the Assistant Commissioner
Dear Friends of Adult Literacy,
Welcome to a special edition of Perspectives, the quarterly newsletter produced by the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education, Office of Adult Literacy (OAL). This issue focuses on the General Educational Development (GED) Test, specifically the new 2002 Test Series.
The GED Test Battery is designed to measure academic concepts traditionally associated with the high school diploma. Candidates who successfully complete the test battery are laying a foundation of achievement for themselves upon which they can build. Additionally, these individuals are eligible to receive a $500 HOPE Scholarship Grant which can be used to further their education.
The Georgia GED program has been successful in the past and continues to grow. The 2002 series presents candidates with the challenge of acquiring academic knowledge that will not only serve them in the workforce but with real-life management as well.
Now more than ever, earning the GED Diploma is crucial toward gaining the knowledge and skills required to compete in the modern workplace. Giving Georgians a chance to succeed is what this program aims to achieve. Thank you for continuing to support adult literacy in Georgia.
Sincerely, |
